How WillSongs Began
During the afternoon of January 30, 1999, Cindy and I were eating lunch and discussing the music we both had written. I confessed the insecurity I felt about my own music and said, "I will not share my music until God tells me to."
That night our team led worship. After the service, as Pastor John King prayed with us, he said to me, "You have songs that God has given you, and you have kept them in the closet. God says to bring them out."
While John was vaguely aware that I wrote, no one there except Cindy and me knew about what I had said only hours before. Thus, concluding that God had indeed spoken, I began assembling the tools needed to create this collection. As of August, 2002, with the publishing of "Your People" and "When I Stand," the closet is now empty.
